Triangle forts were strongpoints intended to provide security and refuge for remote populations. They were earthworks quickly built with excavators, provided with sandbags and wire and completed and manned by the local Popular Force. This one was located (I think) in the vicinity of Son Hai-Vinh Truong S of Phan Rang on the coast. We stayed a week or two.
